Music & Movement (18mo-3yrs)

Music and movement is a way for young children to explore how their bodies move and are able to express themselves. Through music, children learn to use their senses to become emotionally involved by hearing and moving. Music encourages children’s inclination to move, developing their fine motor skills and gross motor skills. Plus, if the rhythm is very entertaining, you may even notice your toddler starting to jump up and down, which helps with their muscle development, strength and balance. If nothing else is a happy place to release the extra energy! This is a 4 week class that is at the Oakhurst Community Center on Tuesdays at 9:30am.

**Parents/Guardians please know that you will have to sign some waivers on the first class as well as engage and be present during the entire class.

  More Coming Soon....

We are pooling our communities’ resources to effectively create cohesive programs like yoga, dance and art. All classes will be full courses that run in 6-8 week sessions, once or twice a week. Partnering with central locations for these activities to consistently take place.  We’d also love to explore options like coding, video and other digital content exploration classes. The goal is a consistent student base that increases the economic and social development of the area as a whole.  Hosting instruction in these fields can promote a myriad of mental and physical benefits through health and stamina, reduced anxiety and depression and boosting cognitive abilities.  Another aspect we are eager to tap into is the ability to positively affect the social and emotional dynamic of the community, thus reducing the isolationism and propagating an overall sense of belonging.

It is the responsibility of all person(s) to do their due diligence in researching instructors and classes. Making sure they meet the person(s) personal needs and expectations pertaining to the safety of the instruction style and location. Eastern Madera Recreation and Parks is not liable as we only serve as a booking site, matching local community based recreational instructors with community locations for classes. All students will receive a waiver on the day of their first class releasing Eastern Madera Recreation and Parks from all liability pertaining to the classes listed above. All instructors operate as independent contractors and are required to have liability coverage. All local community locations are required to have their own liability coverage.
